So, I've tried uploading this entry several times over the past month. Not quite sure why YouTube (or possibly the error is on Blogger's end) won't cooperate anymore. Anyway, let's see if I can put the video in manually...

Seaborne & Roach is probably my favorite serial from the internetainment comedic duo Rhett & Link. This is just the first episode, but the other 3 are pretty frickin' hilarious, as well.

Taxi: Reverend Jim's driving test

I used to love watching the show Taxi on Nick at Nite when I was a kid. Looking over the shows Nick at Nite and TV Land play now....I'm very close to shedding a tear for television. It's even worse than oldies radio nowadays.
I don't quite understand why these stations assume they have to update their lineup to include shows that aren't even five years old yet, or (most appallingly) create their own reality shows. The whole concept of the station is that it plays classic television. That means it shouldn't matter that Taxi was only 16 years old when it first joined the Nick at Nite lineup and it is 30 years old now. It's still a classic, is still just as damn funny, and is still missing from regular TV.
The only reason I even know about Taxi is because I watched it on Nick at Nite, and there is an entire generation who won't have that privilege because suddenly it's too old even for the oldies station. For the most part the lineup is stuff you don't even have time to miss from their first run, let alone shows you never knew about because they were from your parents' childhood. That just doesn't make sense to me.

Anyway. Watch this clip, it's Reverend Jim at his best. And, as a side note, I'm pretty sure one of the reasons I'm determined to marry a Jew is because I had a crush on Alex when I was little. Yea, Judd Hirsch!

I don't know if anyone besides Ryan (hi Ryan...hahaha) actually visits this place, but in case you just happened to stumble onto this little Xanadu paradise of YouTube video wonder, I thought you might like to know that my friends and I have a real blog on WordPress. And it seriously rocks.

I write every Wednesday, the delightful Erin Hoover writes every Thursday, the delectable Steven Wedekind writes every Friday, and the delicious Sara M. writes every Monday. Also, every Tuesday at The Rum Creeters is Mix Tape Tuesday, so one of us will be posting a mix of some great tunes for your listening pleasure.

So check out http://rumcreeters.wordpress.com/ if you want to be assured that you will get a new and exciting post every weekday! This was our first week, so we don't have much to offer yet as far as quantity goes. But the quality will not be lacking. Because we're awesome. And, no, I'm not conceited.

In case you feared writing for The Rum Creeters meant I wouldn't keep posting videos here, you can put your worried mind to rest. Xanadu will be around as long as Blogger, YouTube, and I am. The internet is also an important prerequisite. Just know that I probably won't be updating this place unless I remember/find something so rock-awesome that I have to post it immediately. This is the opening credits of Garth Marenghi's Darkplace. It's a fantastic British series from 2004 that spoofs 80s sci-fi/horror/mystery/drama/hospital shows. It also spoofs bad editing and even worse acting (or is it the the other way around? It's difficult to tell).
Anyway, if you've ever seen anything produced by Stephen J. Cannell, then the opening credits alone should make you bust a rib.
